Q: How does your secret compartment furniture compare to the furniture of other manufacturers?

We kick butt! We believe our furniture offers the best quality and delivers the most features at the most reasonable price available. We invite a careful comparison between our pieces and those of other manufacturers. Click on this link for a comparison chart or just google hidden compartment furniture.
If you follow the secret compartment furniture business, you’ll see companies spring up and fade away almost as quickly. It is one thing to know how to build a piece of furniture. It is another skill set entirely to manage a furniture making business.  Fortunately for you, we have been in the cabinet business since the 70s and officially established the Covert Furniture company in 2012 and won’t be going anywhere. We know if we provide a great product at a fair price, treat our customers fairly and follow sensible and sound business practices, we’ll be here long after others have let their domain names expire.
Unfortunately, a company we don’t include on our comparison page decided to copy our night stand exactly and send it to you in a box of pieces that you must assemble. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, we are flattered, but not impressed. Below are 5 of the 14 customer reviews copied verbatim from their website:

  • “The instructions for this piece are horrendous, I’ve never seen such bad writing, it’s extremely hard to follow. The actual table itself is nice. It’s very sturdy and looks appealing. However, I do wish it came in other color options, this red does not go with anything in my entire house. Also, the veneer started peeling from the bottom after only five days of having it, not a huge deal because I can just glue it back down, but for the price I would have expected it to last longer.”
  • GREAT PRODUCT, real wood veneer on core board….but por instructions (STEP ONE) or the side boards were incorrectly pre-drilled for the rails. The predrilled quide holes for the metal rails did not exist or were in the WRONG PLACE RIGHT NEXT TO THE WOOD RAIL holes. Had to redo the drawer rails three times. A two hour assembly turned into all day project. Rest of instructions great. Clearly no one at [Company Name] assembled a unit to see if they were accurate.
  • Ordered one. Was not easy to put togeather and on the second day I had to do some repairs on it. On one of the concelment drawers on the poorly built FINE PIECE OF FURNITURE where the coupler is started to split long ways and the METAL (lol) joiner broke. Had to fix it with a L Bracket and a couple of screws. All in all it’s cheapley made and DEFINITELY NOT worth anywhere. close to the more than $100 price I paid for it. I will take it apart and use it as a pattern to build one out of real wood that will NOT start to fall apart on the second day.
  • The directions where bad. Some of the hardware parts broke. The parts did not line up correctly. I had to use epoxy in place of the broken hardware. Screw holes stripped out. Cardboard for the back which could be pulled of by hand to gain acsess to the so called hidden draws. I have put together 100’s of pieces of furniture for cost of this thing you will be very disappointed .
  • The idea behind this product is a good one. Hide a gun in relatively plane sight where you can have easy access to it and anyone breaking into your house will not be likely find it. I’ve seen other products that do this, but not with such ease of use. The problem is that this product is poorly manufactured. The drawers just don’t go together the way they should. Some of the pieces just are not cut correctly at the factory. I got them to all to work eventually, but they just don’t work WELL. I’ve put together this type of furniture before on many occasions, but have never had problems like this. I would have sent it back, but I had it mostly put together by the time it came to assembling the drawers. Besides, how would I ever get it back in the box again to return it! It was really packet tightly into that box. As it is, it works. It just doesn’t work as well as it should, especially for the price.

Also, remember, when comparing prices, calculate shipping and add in the additional costs some manufacturers charge for stains, hardware and accessories that come standard with our furniture.
